In the case of 2-FEA, an ethyl group is attached to the terminal amine (RN) of the amphetamine core. Notably, 2-FEA is the N-ethylated homolog of 2-FA (2-fluoroamphetamine).

Pharmacology

To date, 2-FEA has not undergone formal studies comparable to those of traditional amphetamines. It is currently believed that 2-FEA primarily functions as a triple reuptake inhibitor, facilitating the release of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. The substance likely exerts its effects by acting as a releasing agent for these neurotransmitters and/or by binding to and partially blocking the transporter proteins responsible for clearing substances from the synaptic cleft after they have completed their role in transmitting neural impulses.

Subjective Effects

The subjective effects of 2-FEA are reported to be subtle and challenging to define. Some users describe the experience as relatively mild and devoid of significant side effects, akin to 2-FA. Conversely, others have noted an increase in physical side effects or serotonergic activity that resembles the effects of 3-FEA.
