2C-E 15mg Pellets

2,5-Dimethoxy-4-ethylphenethylamine, commonly known as 2C-E, and colloquially referred to as "Aquarust" and "Eternity," is a lesser-known psychedelic substance belonging to the phenethylamine class. It is a member of the 2C-x family of psychedelic phenethylamines, which are closely related to the classical psychedelic mescaline. Like other psychedelics, 2C-E is thought to produce its effects by binding to serotonin receptors in the brain.

History

2C-E was first synthesized and tested for human activity by Alexander Shulgin in 1977, who documented his findings in the 1991 book PiHKAL: Phenethylamines I Have Known and Loved. While primarily distributed online as a research chemical, it is also sometimes sold on the street as 'mescaline' or 'synthetic mescaline.'

Subjective Effects

The subjective effects of 2C-E include open and closed-eye visuals, time distortion, enhanced introspection, ego loss, and euphoria. User reports characterize 2C-E as a highly unpredictable, dose-sensitive psychedelic capable of producing strong visual distortions.

Significance in Psychedelic Research

2C-E is considered one of the "magical half-dozen," a term used by Shulgin to refer to his self-rated most important phenethylamine-derived compounds. All of these compounds, except mescaline, were developed and synthesized by Shulgin himself. The magical half-dozen includes Mescaline, DOM, 2C-B, 2C-E, 2C-T-2, and 2C-T-7, all of which are found in the first book of PiHKAL.

Chemistry

2C-E, or 2,5-dimethoxy-4-ethylphenethylamine, is a phenethylamine characterized by a phenyl ring connected to an amino (NH2) group via an ethyl chain. It contains methoxy functional groups (CH3O-) attached to carbons R2 and R5, as well as an ethyl chain bound to carbon R4 of the phenyl ring. 2C-E belongs to the 2C family of phenethylamines, which feature methoxy groups at the 2 and 5 positions of the benzene ring.

Pharmacology

The psychedelic effects of 2C-E are believed to arise from its efficacy at the 5-HT2A receptor as a partial agonist.
